Palais des Beaux-Arts
Bozar Studios

Palais des Beaux-ArtsAt the beginning there was the idea of combining the cultural and creative potentials of the Brussels-based Centre for Fine Arts and of taking young visitors on a discovery tour through the fine arts. This was the origin of the BOZAR STUDIOS, a special place for art and culture education. Music education plays a major part here. Schools have the possibility of getting to know outstanding orchestras. »Klassiek met Klasse« combines a concert with a meet & greet between students and musicians and »Musica Maestro« allows students to gain »masterly« insights into the work of an orchestra – during a real rehearsal. But the BOZAR STUDIOS are much more than that. As a platform for various interdisciplinary workshops and festivals, they combine different types of art and in the process open up to cultural events in the city. At the »Take a Note« festival, cooperation with the Brussels De Munt Opera came into being which focuses on the diverse modes of expression of the opera theme. To keep this culture affordable, BOZARSTART offers favourably-priced access to young people up to the age of 26.

Today, the Centre for Fine Arts sees itself as a palace of the fine arts – highly renowned but still open to everyone. With this concept, Victor Horta opened the first cultural centre of this kind in Europe in 1928. It was intended to fulfil the expectations of all artists, provide adequate room to them and to meet the highest quality standards. And so, up to the present day, three concert halls, exhibition rooms and reading halls have made a harmonious whole whose major part is located below ground.
