PHILIP FLOOD

Philip Flood

Born in Belfast Philip Flood read music at Queen’s University, Belfast, then studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and at City University, London. After a number of years in teaching he was Education Director of »Spitalfields Festival«, London, a freelance composer and workshop leader and an advisor for Arts Council England on their annual arts education conference. He has also been a trustee of the Society for the Promotion of New Music and the British Arts Festivals Association. He joined London Symphony Orchestra in 2007 as Head of LSO Discovery, the orchestra’s education and community programme. He is currently a special advisor for the Performing Right Society Foundation, the largest commissioner of new music in the UK.
