WERNER ENGLERT

Saxophone player, music educator, composer and arranger Werner Englert has been committed to music education for almost 30 years. In the course of his career, he worked e.g. as the artistic director of the Jazz and Rock School in Freiburg, Germany, and founded the musiclab, a school of music dedicated especially to rock, pop and jazz music. Englert is a lecturer at the academies of music in Freiburg and Stuttgart and organises workshops and seminars all over the world. His speciality are large-scale creative projects with young people and adults, such as the BaWü musical »Junger Wilder Süden« (The Young and wild South) or the choir project »Rhythm of Genesis«. His most recent project, which he realised jointly with the SWR Symphony Orchestra Freiburg Baden-Baden, was »Der Schrei!« (The Scream!) in the summer of 2009.
